Originally from Long Island, New York, Dr. Almer was inspired to pursue a career in orthodontics after receiving treatment as an adolescent and witnessing firsthand the positive impact it had on her self-esteem. She attended the University of Pennsylvania where she was enrolled in the prestigious seven-year Bio-Dental Program, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD). Dr. Almer graduated from dental school with multiple honors, including membership in the Matthew Cryer Honor Society and Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society.
After dental school, Dr. Almer continued her education at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a specialty certificate in orthodontics. As a resident, Dr. Almer was awarded the Robert L. Vanarsdall Fellowship Award for Academic Excellence.
In her free time, Dr. Almer enjoys solving crossword puzzles, experimenting with new recipes, taking long nature walks, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends
